Email forwarders are a useful feature that allows you to automatically redirect emails sent to one email address to another email address. This can be helpful if you want to have multiple email addresses but manage all your mail from a single inbox, or if you need to temporarily redirect emails. StackCP, as implemented by Online Audience, provides a straightforward way to set up and manage email forwarders.
To begin, navigate to the "Email" section within your StackCP control panel. Within this section, you should find an option specifically labeled "Forwarders" or "Email Forwarders." Click on this link to access the email forwarding management interface.
On the "Forwarders" page, you will likely see a list of any existing email forwarders you have already set up. To create a new forwarder, look for a button or link that says "Add Forwarder," "Create Email Forwarder," or a similar option. Click on this to configure a new redirection rule.
You will then be presented with a form where you need to specify the details of the forwarder. Typically, you will need to configure the following:
- Address to Forward: In this field, you will enter the email address for which you want to create the forwarder. You will usually need to select the specific domain name from a dropdown menu if you have multiple domains associated with your Online Audience hosting account and then enter the local part of the email address (the part before the "@" symbol). For example, if you want to forward emails sent to
sales@yourdomain.co.uk
, you would selectyourdomain.co.uk
and entersales
in the address field. - Destination: This section specifies where you want the emails to be forwarded. You will usually have a couple of options:
- Forward to Email Address: This is the most common option. You will enter the full email address where you want the incoming emails to be sent (e.g.,
personalemail@example.com
oranotheraccount@yourdomain.co.uk
). - Forward to a System Account: This option might be available for more advanced configurations and could allow you to forward emails to a specific system process or file. For most users, forwarding to an email address is the relevant choice.
- Forward to Email Address: This is the most common option. You will enter the full email address where you want the incoming emails to be sent (e.g.,
Once you have specified the address to forward and the destination email address, click the "Add Forwarder," "Create Forwarder," or a similar button to save your settings. The forwarder will now be active, and any emails sent to the specified "Address to Forward" will automatically be redirected to the "Destination" email address.
On the "Forwarders" management page, you will usually be able to see a list of your active forwarders. You might have options to delete existing forwarders if you no longer need them. Some StackCP implementations might also allow you to edit existing forwarders to change the destination address. To delete a forwarder, there will typically be a "Delete" button or an "X" icon next to the forwarder entry. To edit, there might be an "Edit" button or a pencil icon.
Managing email forwarders in StackCP provided by Online Audience allows you to handle your email communications efficiently and ensure that you don't miss important messages sent to different email addresses associated with your domains.
