Chargeback Policy

If a client initiates a chargeback for any services purchased through PayPal, Stripe, or Square, a fee will be applied. In the event the client's claim is ruled in our favor or is a false claim, we reserve the right to pass on all fees incurred from the payment processor to the client.

PayPal, Stripe, and Square Chargeback Terms

When a client initiates a chargeback, payment processors like PayPal, Stripe, and Square have specific rules and fees that affect merchants. These fees are typically non-refundable, even if you win the dispute.

1. Stripe

Chargeback Fee: Stripe charges a $15 fee for each dispute received. This fee is non-refundable, regardless of the dispute's outcome.

Counter Fee: Starting in June 2025, Stripe will also charge an additional $15 "dispute countered" fee if you choose to fight the chargeback. This specific fee is refunded if you win the dispute, but the initial $15 chargeback fee is not.

Protection Program: Stripe offers an optional Chargeback Protection service for an extra fee. If you opt in, Stripe will cover fraud-related chargebacks and waive the dispute fees.

2. PayPal

Standard Dispute Fee: PayPal's standard dispute fee is typically $15. This fee may be refunded if you win the dispute, but it depends on the circumstances and your account status.

High-Volume Dispute Fee: If your account has a high rate of chargebacks, PayPal may charge a higher fee, which is currently $30 in the U.S.

Seller Protection: PayPal offers a Seller Protection program that can protect you from financial losses and chargeback fees on eligible transactions. This program generally covers "unauthorized payment" or "item not received" claims.

3. Square

Chargeback Fee: Square does not charge a chargeback fee. They handle the dispute process on your behalf without imposing an additional penalty.

Process: When a chargeback occurs, Square will notify you and temporarily hold the disputed funds. You must then submit evidence to Square, which they will forward to the customer's bank for a final decision.

Liability: While there is no fee, you still risk losing the disputed amount if the customer's bank rules against you. Square does not offer a specific chargeback protection program like other services.
